A two-stage automobile bumper comprises two buffers 3, each set in an inner supporting frame 2 which is supported in an outer supporting frame 1 welded to the front of the chassis. A bumper 4 is fixed at the front end of said buffers. When the bumper receives a shock, pins 215 connecting said buffers with said inner supporting frames are sheared and coil springs 23 are compressed to further absorb the shock force. <IMAGE>
