The invention relates to a ventilation system for the interior of a car, which comprises fresh-air nozzles or blowers and with which the driver especially is intended to be, and can be, kept alert and awake. The particular feature is that nozzles or blowers are fitted in a sliding manner on the seat belt over the chest of the driver and blow in the direction of the lower half of the face (chin, mouth and nose) where experience shows that this stimulus for keeping the driver alert has the greatest effect. In order further to increase the stimulating effect of the flow of fresh air, a small scent container can be connected to the air supply or to the nozzles/blowers and this (for example when pressed with the hand) gives off a small amount of scent into the flow of air.
