The optical fibre (1) is centred in the centring cylinder (2) in that a capillary tube (5) is in the first instance secured to its end surface, preferably by cementing. After this, the capillary tube or its bore (6) is aligned by means of a material deformation accurately onto the central axis of the centring cylinder; in this case, the outer sheath (4) of the centring cylinder is employed as a reference surface. After the insertion of the optical fibre into the capillary tube, it is possible, if required, for a further readjustment to be carried out, in the course of which the core of the optical fibre is readjusted under visual inspection. <IMAGE> |
