PURPOSE:To improve transmission efficiency by performing recording to recording paper of another size when there is no recording paper of the size specified on the transmission side. CONSTITUTION:When original data of size B4 are transmitted from a transmission side and a received picture and recording paper size selecting circuit 9 detects that, the circuit 9 turns on a clutch 6 by its output signal (f) to turn on a feed roller 4, thereby feeding recording paper of size A4 from a cassette 2 to a recording part if a cassette 1 contains recording paper of not size B4, but size A4 and the output signal (c) and (d) of recording paper detecting sensors 7 and 8 show corresponding states. At the same time, the circuit 9 sends a picture signal (a) to a received picture contracting circuit 10 to reduce the received picture to the size A4, and thus obtains a contracted picture signal (g) by conversion to send the resulting signal to a recording control circuit 12. |
