Protective circuit for optical disc players

A protective circuit for optical disc players prevents an unnecessary or harmful emission of laser beams caused by a malfunction in the player. The protective circuit includes a laser-radiator and beam-measuring device, which senses the laser beams reflected from an optical disc, and a driving device, which receives the sensing signal from the laser-radiator and beam-measuring device and controls a microcomputer in such a way that the supply of an operating voltage to the laser-radiator and beam-measuring device is interrupted whenever the optical disc is not in place on a turntable.
