The invention relates to a rolling stand constructed without housings and without preloading. The invention is intended to improve the ability to function and increase reliability. The object is to create a rolling stand in which the chocks of the rolls are self-adjusting and cannot be displaced radially relative to one another but can be displaced axially and parallel to the rolling line in pairs, within certain limits. This is achieved by virtue of the fact that the chocks are connected in pairs and via flexible sealing elements and braced against the tie rods via articulation parts in a manner which has a weight-compensating effect by means of spring elements arranged at the ends of the said tie rods. <IMAGE>
