<p>A track roller frame assembly (21) for a track-type vehicle (10) includes a rugged and yet lightweight main body (62) including a channel-shaped base (63), a recoil-mechanism receiving tubular casing (64) overlyingly connected to a first end portion (65) of the base (63), and a plate structure (66) overlyingly connected to the second end portion (67) of the base. A collar (68) defines a bore (150) therethrough for receiving a support member (142) of a drive wheel (22) preferably containing a hydraulic drive motor (182), and a support bracket (72) is connected to the tubular casing (64) for pivotally connecting the main body (62) to the main frame (12) of the vehicle (10). The weight of the superstructure (29) and the tension forces on the drive belt (26) that encircles the track roller frame assembly (21) are advantageously transferred through the collar (68) and the main body (62) along a central vertical plane (70) therealong and to a plurality of roller wheels (130) centrally supported under the base (63).</p> |
