Exhaust gas catalyst, in particular for vehicles, composed of a housing having an internal shell receiving the catalyst body and a thermally insulated outer shell and connection flanges connected to housing ends formed in a funnel shape, which connection flanges each have a roughly centrally arranged bore hole receiving the housing end and a multiplicity of threaded bore holes at a distance therefrom and distributed over the connection flanges, the housing ends and/or the connection flanges being designed in such a manner that conduction of heat to the outer shell via the connection flanges is counteracted.
