A flow limiter (1) (Fig. 1) has an elastic, annular throttle body (5), which is widened out conically on the delivery side and in which a spigot (10) engages from the downstream side. Between this spigot and the throttle body (5), a control gap (11) is formed, whose passage cross-section can be varied by approximately annular constriction of the throttle body (5) as a function of the pressure difference formed when liquid flows through. Inside its annular region, the throttle body (5) has recesses oriented in the flow direction, which are preferably designed as grooves (9), open at their edge radially outwards and arranged in the region of the throttle body (5) close to the outer edge. These increase the total elasticity of the throttle body (5) and thus significantly increase the control range. <IMAGE>
