In a fuel injection nozzle with two rows of spray holes for internal combustion engines with direct fuel injection and self-ignition and swirling of the cylinder charge, the spray holes (23, 24), according to the invention, are arranged in pairs so that the jet axes (4, 5) enclose a surface which during the injection lies in the peripheral area (8) of the combustion chamber (1), for example the combustion chamber cavity in the piston, parallel to the direction of the aggregate flow (10) of the cylinder charge resulting from the quench area flow (13) and the swirled flow (12). The said injection hole arrangement results in favourable values with regard both to the engine power and the exhaust emission.
