摘要 |
PURPOSE: To obtain a polycrystalline silicon carbide fiber having high purity and high density without an oxidizing process and without requiring core fibers by mixing a polymeric silicon carbide precursor with silicon carbide particles, spinning the mixture to produce raw fibers, and then sintering. CONSTITUTION: A polymeric silicon carbide precursor (e.g. polycarbosilane or the like) is dissolved in a solvent such as xylene, to which a dispersion assistant soln. and silicon carbide particles (e.g. isometric α-phase carbon silicon carbide powder or the like) are added. The obtd. soln. is fluidized by agitating to obtain a dope comprising a mixture with good homogeneity. The mixture dope is extruded and spun through spinning nozzle by using a pressure spinning assembly to produce raw fibers. The obtd. fibers are heated up to 1600 deg.C in an inert gas atmosphere to obtain the silicon carbide fiber of the purpose. |
