PURPOSE: To facilitate the surgical operation of teeth and to enable optimum working state by forming at least one holes of a bite block to be applied between the upper jaw and lower jaw of a patient integrally with this bite block and acting the holes as discharge holes to be connected to a suction device. CONSTITUTION: The bite block 1 has a through hole 4 to accept the suction nozzle of the suction device not shown in Fig. The block has a second perpendicularly extending hole 6 which is adjacent to this through hole 4 and communicates therewith. This second hole 6 constitutes the means for sucking the saliva together with a hanging piece 7 connected to the inside surface of the patient's lower jaw in the operation position of the implement. When the suction device connected with the suction nozzle operates, the air passing the perpendicular hole 6 generates vacuum in the hole 6. Consequently, the saliva 8 is sucked through the perpendicular hole 6 and is introduced through the hole 4 and the nozzle 5 mounted at the hole to the suction device. The contact surface of the bite block with the patient's teeth is provided with many transverse direction ribs 9 in such a manner that the bite block is surely held in the operation position in the patient's mouth. |
