<p>An antenna structure comprises a loop antenna (13) electrically connected to a high-frequency circuit (12) of a portable radio device. The antenna structure also comprises a supplemental antenna including a coil (16) spring which is used for fixing a dry battery (14) powering the portable radio device, and a negative cylindrical conductor (14c) of the dry battery which conductor is electrically connected with the coil spring. The coil spring is placed to be inductively coupled to the loop antenna. The longitudinal axis of the dry battery is substantially perpendicular to a plane including the loop antenna. Thus, deterioration in signal reception sensitivity due to the directivity of the loop antenna can be compensated by the supplemental antenna.</p> |
