PRODUCTION OF CONDUCTIVE FILAMENT AND ANTISTATIC YARN CONTAINING POLYSTYRENE

摘要

PURPOSE: To decrease the tendency of easy breaking of conductive filaments during drawing by preparing a molten mixture of a major portion of a fiber forming polymeric material and a minor portion of polystyrene as the nonconductive polymer component of spin-oriented conductive filaments. CONSTITUTION: Freshly-spun undrawn nonconductive filaments 20 are combined with one or more spin-oriented conductive filaments 24 having a nonconductive component which is produced from a major portion of nonconductive fiber- forming polymeric material and a minor portion of polystyrene. The combined fibers are drawn and bulked together to produce an antistatic yarn.
