PURPOSE: To obtain a surgical auxiliary material which may be prepd. in the amt. needed for use and is easily and stably usable by constituting a base material of gelatin of pharmacological quality in a pure state and consisting a suspension material of a material composed of hydroxyapatite of a ceramic product. CONSTITUTION: This surgical auxiliary material 1 consists of the base material and suspension material constituting active elements. The base material 2 consists of the gelatin of the pharmacological quality in the pure state (gel) and the suspension material comprises the granules 3 of the hydroxyapatite of the ceramic product dispersed over the entire part of the base material by kneading. Glycerol is added to the auxiliary material in order to impart some extent of plasticity to the product. The optimum chemical compsn. of the surgical auxiliary material in a hydration phase, if shown, is as follows: 61.35% hydroxyapatite, 13.56% gel, 12.65% glycerol and 12.44% water. The resultant product is heated to a temp. not higher than 40 deg.C and is dried by evaporation under vacuum in order to prevent the gel from receiving some deterioration in properties. |
