PURPOSE:To make the sender of electronic mail confirmable of the reception of the mail by the recipient without making any operation by automatically informing the sender of the reception by means of a mail reception informing means about the mail which is received by the recipient after the recipient makes a mail receiving request. CONSTITUTION:When the recipient of a terminal 3 makes a mail receiving request to an electronic mail management system 1 by operating the terminal 3, the mail receiving means 22 of the system 1 fetches the mail from a receiving mail registering section 5 and outputs the fetched mail to the terminal 3. Then the outputted mail is deleted from the section 5 and the name of the sender of the terminal 2, from which the mail is transmitted, registered in the deleted area 51 of the section 5 and the mail number and the name of the recipient of the terminal 3 who made the mail receiving request registered in the deleted area 52 of the section 5 are handed to a mail reception informing means 23 and the means 23 is actuated. Therefore, the sender of the terminal 2 can recognize that his mail has been received by the recipient.
