PURPOSE:To execute the equal distribution of a light input by connecting input optical fibers from central one up to N/8-th ones a at both sides among N- number of input optical fibers to be linearly arranged in the mixer part of an NXN slab waveguide type multimode start coupler to input ports. CONSTITUTION:The LD light of a light transmitter 1 is electrooptically converted by a transmitting signal from an input 2, and a light signal is outputted to an optical fiber 3. The optical fiber 3 is connected to input ports 11a-11c of a star coupler 4 connected to input optical fibers 5a-5c from the central one up to the N/8-th ones at both sides among N-number of input optical fibers to be linearly arranged in a mixer part 6 of the star coupler 4. The LD light from the optical fiber 3 connected to the input port 11b of the star coupler 4 is propagated in the input fiber 5b, diffused at the mixer part 6 and equally distributed to output fibers 7c-7e. Further, the LD light is sent through output ports 12a-12c and optical fibers 8c-8e to first, N/2-th and N-th optical receivers 9c-9e. Thus, the equal distribution with a high reliability is executed. |
