PURPOSE:To improve toner consumption efficiency with low cost by opposing an opposite electrode in which spiral grooves are formed on the periphery of a rotor to segment electrodes as signal electrodes, applying toner to the grooves, and carrying it to the electrodes upon rotation of the rotor. CONSTITUTION:When a cylindrical electrode 4b is new rotated in a direction similar to a sub scanning direction (b), screw grooves 4i is moved in parallel from left to rightward. In this case, when a positive polarity high voltage is applied to a segment electrode 4d, an electric field is formed between the end of the electrode 4d and the base 4g of an electrode 4b. Toner charged to negative polarity adhering to the crossing point of the groove 4i and the electrodes 4d is transferred onto the sheet surface P1 to print one dot. In this instance, the sheet P is dried by a heater 2c, and unnecessary change on the sheet P is also removed by an electric eliminating brush 3. Accordingly, a satisfactory printing quality without image disorder or the like is obtained. Necessary least toner is conveyed to a printing step, and transferred to the sheet. |
