PURPOSE:To cancel a density nonuniformity by correcting a density change due to the influence of the temperature change of the head of an ink jet printer for each scanning. CONSTITUTION:The levels of image data read by a reading means (a) are successively added by an adding means (b). The temperature of the head of the ink jet printer is measured by a measuring means (c). Temperature data from the measuring means (c) at the time of outputting a reference chart and addition data from the adding means (b) at the time of reading the reference chart are stored as reference data in a storing means (d). A correcting means (e) corrects the density value of the image data obtained from the reading means (a) based on the addition data from the adding means (a), the temperature data from the measuring means (c), and the reference data. |
