PURPOSE:To automatically monitor an annealing characteristic in case of continuous annealing of a metallic wire, by making an annealing wire pass through a sieve provided between an annealing device of a running metallic wire and an annealing wire winding device, and detecting a variation of an inclined-movement of a sieve supporting body. CONSTITUTION:In the process for continuously annealing a metallic wire running between a metallic wire feed bobbin 1 and an annealing wire winding device 6, by an annealing device 2, between said annealing device 2 and the winding device 6, turn sieves 3, 3' are fitted to a sieve supporting base body 31 supported so as to be freely rotatable by a pin 32, by an arm 41 of a rack base 4, and an annealing wire is made to pass through said turn sieves. Bend-distortion received when the annealing wire has passed through the sieves 3, 3' is left as distortion after the annealing wire has been made linear, works on the supporting base body 31 as moment M around the pin 32, and the force balanced to the moment M is put on a load cell 5. The moment M is varied in accordance with an annealing characteristic of the annealing wire, therefore, the annealing characteristic can be detected from a variation of an output of the load cell 5. |
