PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure the movements of a high-speed flying object and the like which is flying from the inner side of the earth and a part over the horizon by detecting the phase difference caused by the speed difference between the light through a first optical fiber and the light through a second optical fiber with an optical-wave phase detector. CONSTITUTION:Light which is outputted from a semiconductor laser 5 is split into two light beams with a first semitransparent mirror 3. One light is guided to the input part of a first optical fiber 1, and the other light is guided to the input part of a second optical fiber 2. The longitudinal side of the optical fiber 1 is arranged along the direction of the transmitted light through the semitransparent mirror 3. The longitudinal side of the fiber 2 is arranged along the direction of the reflected light. The laser light beams which have passed through both fibers are synthesized again at a second semitransparent mirror 4. The synthetic light is inputted into an optical-wave phase detector 6. When a body 10 is moved along the longitudinal side of the fiber 1, the speed of the light through the fiber 1 is affected. The speed of the light through the fiber 2 is not changed. When the phase difference between the light beams through both fibers is measured with the detector 6, the speed of the body 10 is outputted. In this way, the speeds of the moving body and the like can be measured. |
