PURPOSE:To obtain carbon fiber, i.e. pitch fiber free from damages, with easy handling, by making infusible followed by carbonization of pitch fiber on which such a granular solid lubricant has been attached as to be solid while being made infusible and capable of sublimation and decomposition by carbonization. CONSTITUTION:The objective carbon fiber can be obtained by making infusible followed by carbonization of pitch fiber on which such a granular solid lubricant (pref., melamine-cyanuric acid adduct) has been attached as to be solid while being made infusible and capable of sublimation and decomposition by carbonization. |
