PURPOSE:To prevent drop of efficiency of a compressor proper owing to gasification of the condensed water by cooling the water returned to the compressor proper through a pipe line from a receiver tank using a cooling device, furnished in the pipeline, so that the temp. difference between this water and atmosphere becomes below a certain set value. CONSTITUTION:Water supplied to the compressor proper 1 from a water supply source 15, such as service water performs both lubrication and cooling of this compressor proper 1 and is, at the same time, sent to a receiver tank 7 in the vapor phase together with the air compressed by the compressor 1. This water, stored in a tank 7 upon being separated at a separated 8', is returned to the compressor 1 through a pipe line 13. At this time, the water is cooled by a cooling device 14', provided in the pipeline 13, so that the temperature difference between the atmosphere and the water returnd to the compressor 1 through the pipeline 13 from the tank 7. For ex., the temp. difference t1-t0 shall be under 12 deg.C in order to suppress the efficiency drop of the compressor 1 below 5% in case t0=40 deg.C, on the assumption that the temps. of atmosphere and water are t0 deg.C and t1 deg.C, respectively. |
