PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability in the injection of ink by preventing the stagnation of an ink droplet on the surface of a nozzle plate by forming grooves between the ink nozzles provided to the surface of the nozzle plate in a lattice state. CONSTITUTION:In an ink jet recording head, grooves 9 are formed on the surface of a nozzle plate 6 between ink nozzles 7. The interval A between the ink nozzles 7 is about 2mm usually and each of the grooves is pref. formed so as to have a width B of 0.2-0.5mm and a depth C of 0.1-0.3mm. The width D of the projection 10 surrounding each of the nozzles 7 is pref. almost same to the width B of each groove 9. By forming the surface structure of the nozzle plate 6 as mentioned above, even when an ink droplet remains on the end surface of each ink nozzle 7 when ink is injected from the ink nozzle 7, the ink droplet moves to the part of each groove 9 to fall therein and is not stagnated in the peripheral part of the ink nozzle 7 and the air bubble adhered to the ink droplet does not penetrate into the ink nozzle 7. Therefore, the straight advance property of ink injection is kept by simple constitution and, the emission continuity of ink is ensured to make it possible to enhance the reliability of the ink jet recording head. |
