PURPOSE:To provide an P-TM-B system permanent magnet of a thin thickness, high performance and low cost by making the specific quantity of an R2TM14B phase which is strong magnetic one and the fixed force of coercive force on a permanent magnet which makes material main constituents of a rare earth element, a transition metal element and a IIIb group element. CONSTITUTION:R (however, R is a kind of rare earth elements containing yttrium), TM (however, Tm is a kind of transition metal elements containing a IIb group) and X (however, X is a kind of IIIb group elements) is made material main constituents. The base constituents is melted and casted to perform hot working of a casting ingot at 500 deg.C or higher, the liquid phase of an R-rich phase which is a non-magnetic substance is eliminated to enrich a magnetic phase and mechanical orientation and magnetic anisotropy are given. The production of a magnet is regulated as a strong magnetic substance by aiming R2Fe14B (atomic ratio), but in the case where R is rich, an R-rich phase acts as a non- magnetic substance and, in the case where B is rich, a B-rich phase acts as the non-magnetic substance. As the result practical coercive force of 5kOe or more can be obtained although the R2Fe14B phase which is a strong magnetic phase has the existence of 93% or more of the whole. |
