PURPOSE:To satisfy every functional item demanded for a carrying member and to always form a stable and high quality image by improving not only the toner carrying member but also toner, in a contact developing method wherein nonmagnetic one component toner is used. CONSTITUTION:The toner carrying member is provided with first and second coating layers on a supporting body and is usually used in the form of a roller. For the first coating layer, an elastic body is employed; preferably, the one whose specific resistance is within the medium resistance region, and NBR, ECR, acrylic rubber, etc. are listed. It disperses conductive fine particle such as carbon black, oxidized metallic particle. A preferable second coating layer is a synthetic resin layer having a good releasability and the same level of the specific resistance as the first coating layer. The elongation percentage of the synthetic resin layer is 10-500%, especially 30-300% is preferable. For toner, a mixed base is used; the mixed base is such that a colored resin particle is matrix toner to which a fine particle, which can be charged into the reversed polarity of the electrification of the matrix toner due to the friction against the carrying member, is added. |
