PURPOSE: To enhance the interimage effect of a sensitive material in the low density region by incorporating a specified yellow dye forming DIR coupler. CONSTITUTION: This sensitive material has one or more silver halide emulsion layers each contg. a yellow dye forming diketomethylene coupler which is a compd. having a 4,7-dihalogen-2-benzotriazolyl group providing a compd. having development inhibiting property at the time of release from the active position of the coupler by a color development reaction at the coupling position. The coupler is preferably one of couplers represented by formulae I-III, etc. In the formulae, COUP is a residue of a coupler, each of R1 and R2 is a halogen L is a combining group, (n) is 0 or 1, each of R3 and R4 is H, a halogen, etc., R5 is an alkyl or aryl, R6 is a halogen, alkoxy, etc., and Ball is a hydrophobic ballast group.
