PURPOSE:To provide a plasmid pBP1 having a specific number of sensitive sites to restriction enzyme, capable of imparting a host with kanamycin resistance and useful as a vector for the genetic recombination of coryne-form bacteria or bacteria of genus Escherichia. CONSTITUTION:The objective plasmid pBP1 is originated from a bacterial strain of genus Arthrobacter, has a molecular weight of about 37 k-base and a kanamycin-resistant genetic character and is self-replicative in a coryne-form bacteria or Escherichia bacteria. The number of sensitive sites to restriction enzyme are 4 for BamI, 4 for EcoRI, 3 for EcoRV, 5 for HindIII, 2 for KpnI, 4 for PstI, 4 for PuvII and 7 for SmaI. The plasmid can be obtained from Arthrobacter protophormiae ATCC 19271 strain. |
