The valve, which can be used particularly on an air supply duct to an internal combustion engine, comprises a casing in which equipment may rotate between a first position and a second position. A return spring 56 forces the equipment into a closed position. The equipment is brought into the open position by exciting a coil 20 for creating an axial magnetic field which coil is associated with a magnetic circuit having a tubular stator 28 surrounding the coil 20 and a rotor 54 belonging to the rotary equipment, the stator and the rotor including interacting teeth 30, 44 the cut of which is such that the magnetic circuit has a minimum reluctance in the open position. <IMAGE>
