PURPOSE:To obtain a diamond light emitting device, in which the laser oscillation of an N-V center in artificial synthetic diamond is enabled, by specifying the maximum value of optical density in the direction of excitation light in the N-V center and specifying the maximum value of the optical density of an Ib type nitrogen atom. CONSTITUTION:The maximum value of optical density in the direction of excitation light in an N-V center in artificial synthetic diamond is kept within a range of 0.01-3. The maximum value of the optical density of an Ib type nitrogen atom in 530-610nm is kept within a range of 0.2 or less. The nitrogen concentration of the artificial synthetic diamond is brought to 1X10<17>-X10<19>atom/cm<3>. The crystal of the artificial synthetic diamond contains an H3 center, and in cludes the Ib and Ia type nitrogen of 5X10<17>-2X10<19>atom/cm<3>. Accordingly, a diamond light-emitting device in which the laser oscillation of the N-V center is enabled is acquired. |
