PURPOSE: To provide the assembly of an electrode and a carrier for monitoring the heartbeat rate of an unborn baby by providing an electrode structure with a clip-shaped body which supports the electrode at the fastening section of a clip and has a member to be engaged with the surface of a cam inside the carrier. CONSTITUTION: An electrode body structure 30 has arms 32 and 34 for supporting confronted fastening members 16 and 26 of metal wires of which the top ends are sharpened so as to be easily inserted through the outer skin of the unborn baby. A body 31 has legs 36 and 38 formed integrally with the arms 32 and 34, the pairs of arms and legs are connected by an integrally formed elastic web 35, and the body 31 is almost 'H'-shaped. A coil spring 40 operates outward expanding force upon the legs while being buried in the legs 34 and 36 and usually, the fastening members 16 and 26 are mutually driven toward closing state. The fastening member 16 is functioned as a sensing electrode and connected through the body 31 to a wire 20 connected to the monitoring device. |
