PURPOSE:To form colored layers having a uniform thickness without having unequal colors by forming the colored layers on a thin transparent conductive film by electrodeposition painting. CONSTITUTION:An electrode 11 consisting of the thin transparent conductive film of ITO, etc., is formed on a transparent substrate 10 consisting of 'Pyrex(R)' glass, etc., and a lead wire 12 is connected thereto. This substrate is immersed in a paint 13 for electrodeposition contg. a resin, pigment and additives and an electric field is impressed between the above-mentioned electrode and a counter electrode 14. The resin dispersed by the impression of the electric field moves to the electrode 11 which is a material to be painted, thus depositing thereon. The substrate 10 is then pulled up to a bath cell 16 and is immersed in an electrodeposition cell contg. different pigments so that the other 9 colors are electrodeposition painted on the substrate. The color filter having the colored layer of the fine patterns having the uniform thickness without having the unequal colors is, therefore, easily produced simply by forming the electrode patterns to the finer patterns. The reduction of the cost is possible as well. |
