Protection cushion for shoulders and hips which can be fitted to seatbelts, consisting of a backing piece 3 provided with a guiding means 1 for the belt to rest against, and with a means 2 for holding the latter, of an elastic shock-absorbing pad 4 covered with a textile covering 5. This device follows the contours of the body of the user. The total thickness of the cushion, approximately 35 mm, prevents direct pressure of the belt 7 on the movable part of the rib cage. Its support surface halves the pressure of the belt and reduces the risks and significance of injuries in the event of impact. <IMAGE>
