<p>PURPOSE:To prevent that a motion artifact is detected as a pulse waveform by mistake by including a pressing force detection means for detecting the pressing force to a living body of a pressure sensor and a judge means for judging whether pressing force exceeds a preset value. CONSTITUTION:When a pressure sensor 20 is pressed by the optimum pressing force and the pressure-sensitive element positioned on the central part of the radial artery 24 among pressure-sensitive elements 22A-22J is accurately selected, the pulse waveform outputted from the selected pressure-sensitive element corresponds to that in the radial artery. The pressing force Pf of the pressure sensor 20 is read on the basis of the feedback signal from a pressure transducer 53 and it is judged whether the pressing force Pf exceeds a predetermined judge reference value. In such a state that the pressing force Pf does not exceed the judge reference value Po, usual blood pressure monitor is executed and, when the pressing force Pf exceeds the judge reference value Po, the reading of the signal data displaying a pressure pulse wave supplied through an A/D converter 46 is stopped.</p> |
