Process for separation of the zirconium and/or hafnium contained in an aqueous uranium-containing carbonate solution by selective precipitation of the zirconium (hafnium) using a hydroxamic acid dissolved in a water-miscible solvent, it being possible for the precipitate obtained to be floated.
