PURPOSE:To perform more natural, diverse envelope control by determining the maximum value of an envelope signal according to set sound volume and generating straight line data and polygonal line which differ in tilt angle by steps. CONSTITUTION:A sound volume setting device 100 specifies the maximum level, time, and gradient of an envelope to an envelope generating circuit 4C. The generating circuit 4C generates the straight line data which differ in tilt angle by the steps and has the level determined by the maximum value of an envelope signal over plural steps to generate envelope data representing the envelope by a polygonal line. Consequently, the shape of the envelope of a generated musical sound is different according to the sound volume of the generated musical sound and various envelopes are obtained. |
