PURPOSE: To position and hold a transducer on a human body by providing the subject instrument with a holding member, which is connected to the other end of a flexible and long arm having a mount for transducer, for installation on the human body and a means for fixing the arm at the fixed position on the human body. CONSTITUTION: A holding means 11 holds a tension means 12, and a tension instrument applies tensile force to a wire 13, for which cylindrically spherical segments 14 and 15 are generally alternately arranged, consisting of the arm. A transducer 16 is mounted at the far end of the arm, and the transducer is connected to any suitable monitoring device. The holding member 11 can be formed suitably for the body of a patient and can hold the arm. Similarly, the cross section of the segment 15 is made spherical. Until tensile force is applied to the wire 13, the segments 14 and 15 can be mutually operated and positioned as desired. The transducer 16 is arranged, tensile force is applied to the wire 13, the segments 14 and 15 are mutually engaged, and the arm is fixedly shaped. Such an instrument is fixed on the breast of the patient so as to position the transducer 16 as desired while using the plastic holding means 11 of a tripod, for example. |
