PURPOSE:To perform properly camera operation corresponding to the specification of a mounted interchangeable lens by making the number of kinds of data stored on a ROM according to whether the transmitting function for specific data is provided or not. CONSTITUTION:The interchangeable lens 5 sends data characteristic to the interchangeable lens 5 from the ROM 50 to a camera main body 1 in synchronism with a clock supplied from the central controller 10 of the camera main body 1, the data in the ROM 5 includes data indicating whether or not the sending function for the specific data is provided to this interchangeable lens, and the number of the kinds of data stored in said ROM 5 is made different according to whether or not the sending function is provided. Here, the camera main body 1 discriminates whether or not there is the data by the central controller 10 to supply electric power, reference clock pulses, address data, a reset signal, etc., to a data output device for accessories 2, 3, 4, etc., thereby performing properly the camera operation corresponding to the specification of the mounted interchangeable lens. |
