PURPOSE:To prevent the melt cutting of a lead wire and to enhance vibration resistance by constituting a lead terminal of a stock having sufficient tensile strength and coating a part thereof with cement, then fixing the terminal into a metallic case. CONSTITUTION:The prescribed length part on the root end side of an oxygen sensor element 2 projects through a ceramic supporter 6c the pull out of which is prevented by a metallic washer 28 and a caulking part 20 formed to a metallic case 20 on the root end side of the oxygen sensor element 2. The lead wire 22 essentially consisting of a platinum group metal is, therefore, embedded in the sensor element 2 and is fixed and connected to the electrode lead part and heater lead part disposed to the root end part. The other end part of the lead wire 22 is connected to the lead terminal 24 consisting of the stock having the sufficient tensile strength, for example, stainless steel of 60kg/mm<2>. |
