摘要 Correlation signals are preferably calculated from a comparison of sensor images which reproduce current scenes with stored reference images. The amplitude and amplitude position are determined from scanned values of a digital representation, and fed to a memory with a maximum detector. The intention is to achieve higher precision in the determination of a correlation maximum and its position from the discrete values of the digital representation of a digital correlation signal. The correlation signal, which is determined through scanned values of the digital representation, is interpolated in an interpolator. As the result, the amplitude and amplitude position of the maximum (the peak value) of the interpolated signal, which approximates to the continuous correlation signal, are determined, and made available for exact measurement, refreshing reference images, or controlling servo motors. The method can be applied where an existing correlation result, which is discrete in time or place, is analysed to determine the exact height and position of the correlation maximum. <IMAGE>
