Tactile display device for the simultaneous digital transmission of manually produced characters from a transmitter to a receiver

The number of layers needed in a tactile display device is to be reduced. Common electrodes are provided for the electrodes which are arranged in rows and columns to form coordinate points, to which common electrodes a reference potential is connected which is common to the display electrodes and the touch electrodes. The common electrodes are fitted to a plastic film which contains display elements which react to a display voltage which is present, and display electrodes arranged in the direction transverse to the common electrodes. Through the common arrangement of different electrodes on one film, which also contains an optically active layer, at least one layer is saved within a tactile display device constructed in the manner of a sandwich.
