An adhesive-applying apparatus is provided, which has a head on which there is rotatably mounted a rotating hollow applicator brush, which is driven by means of a drive device. The bristles are spread in the form of a hollow cone. An adhesive feeding tube, which is connected via a line to a metering pump and is thus fed with adhesive, opens out in this hollow cone. The rotating brush is assigned in a predetermined arrangement two distributing brushes, fixed to the frame. The arrangement can be passed over the surface to be provided with adhesive by means of a handle. However, the head is preferably designed as a carriage which can travel on a guide, the guide being supported movably by means of a carrying device and being controlled in such a way that, with the aid of a spacer, the bristles always assume a fixed relative position with respect to the surface to be provided with adhesive.
