A description is given of a vertical screen installation having vertical lamellae which form the vertical screen, the vertical lamellae being arranged on slides of a cord-pull rail and being rotated via a rotating device corresponding to the desired through-passage of light. The object of the invention is to provide a vertical screen system which, along with low production costs, ensures reliable operation and in the case of which it is also possible to bend the screen rail as required. For this purpose, it is provided that slides are guided rotatably and longitudinally displaceably by means of slide pieces in the groove of a conventional cord-pull rail, that in each case one vertical lamella is suspended on the slides via a corresponding hook end, that the vertical lamellae are connected on the outside to turning cords in each case, and that there is provided, as rotating device, a turning part which, in conjunction with a stationary part, carries out a rotation of the last slide on the cord, said rotation being imparted, via the turning cords, to all the other vertical lamellae, with the result that all the screen lamellae are turned via the rotation of the last slide on the cord.
