This invention relates to a cut flaw detector for a glass sheet which detects any flaw occurring on the cut surface of a cut glass sheet. The rays of light emitted from a slender light source (11 or 21) and transmitted through or reflected on a glass sheet (1) are received by a one-dimensional imaging apparatus (12 or 22) and a judging device (13 or 24) detects the cut flaw of the glass sheet on the basis of the output voltage of the one dimensional imaging apparatus. The light source and the imaging apparatus are arranged in such a manner that the longitudinal direction of the light source is in parallel with the direction of arrangement of imaging elements of the imaging apparatus and the longitudinal direction of the light source and the direction of arrangement of the imaging elements of the imaging apparatus are inclined with respect to the conveying direction of the glass sheet on a plane parallel to the glass sheet.
