The drive mechanism for suction pull rails (3) mounted on a support rail (16) incorporates a continually rotating perforated belt (10) to which regulable suction air is applied. The speed of the perforated belt (10) can be adjusted. The suction pull-rail (3) or the support rail (16) for it are linked to a return spring (8). The possible extent of the suction pull rail's movement is greater than the maximum extent to which the sheets of paper are pulled. USE/ADVANTAGE - The drive for suction pull guides used in printing machines enables the sheets of paper to be laterally aligned even at high speeds and with flimsy material.
