Crystalline hard magnetic material contg. rare earth and iron - contg. ternary phase comprising trivalent cerium, iron and element which stabilises cerium in trivalent state

A rare earth and Fe contg. crystalline hard magnetic material contains a hard magnetic, ternary phase comprising Ce in trivalent form, Fe and X where X is at least one of Zn, Ga, As, Sb, Ge, Sn, Se and Te. The material pref. contains at least 60 atom % Fe. The ternary phase may also contain Co in an amt. of at most 10 atom %, calculated on the amt. of Fe, to raise the Curie temp. of the material in cases where the temp. of the working environment is higher than the Curie temp. of the Co-free material.
