The invention relates to a device for handling standardised removable skips of various tonnage, particularly for agriculture. This device, fitted onto a tipping subframe may be mounted equally well on the bare chassis of a trailer or of a lorry which is provided with the movement take off. This handling device is essentially characterised in that there are two pull cables connected, at two symmetrical points, onto two endless chains and provided at their other ends with fastening rings. The endless chains are located on either side of the subframe on chain sprockets. The movement is obtained by means of a hydraulic pump driven by the power take-off of the tractor or of the lorry and actuating a hydraulic motor. This device therefore allows the handling of crates, but is also for use as a conventional tipper with a significant tipping angle, by virtue of the hydraulic locking of the removable skip on the subframe. The means for using this device is identical to the system with cables, but using a much simpler and distinctly more reliable technology. <IMAGE>
