An earth-contact plug of waterproof design must have a screw ring in accordance with DIN 49443, which screw ring connects the plug to the plug socket by means of a bayonet closure. The object of the invention is to create a design which is as space-saving as possible. To this end a link consisting of insulating material is inserted between the front part (1) and the rear part (2) of a transversely divided plug housing, which link on the one hand rests on the rear ends of two plug pins (6) and on the other hand bears with its two ends on supporting steps which are constructed in the rear part.
