A coded disc incremented through a number of positions, has a pair of push buttons (41) for operation in both directions. The disc is coaxial with a pinion gear (31) selectively operated upon by the switching pawls (42'). The latter are integral with the push-buttons and produced as mouldings. The lower ends have shaped extensions (16') that engage against stops. When a push-button is operated a point is reached where the gear indexes in a snap action.
