The invention relates to a line coupling on automatic centre buffer couplings for rail vehicles which is easy and cost-effective to manufacture, to install and to service. The contact face is directed towards the side of the small claw and is arranged so as to lie at right angles to the impact face of the small claw. The housing is mounted so as to be capable of being displaced axially rearwards in the coupling body by means of a rod attached to the said housing and so as to be cardanically movable. At least three springs which are arranged in an axis-parallel and concentric fashion are guided around the rod by means of in each case one rod which is mounted in the coupling body. A further spring is arranged between the housing and coupling body perpendicular to the contact face at a distance from the bearing plate. In the region of the contact face, the housing is provided with impact and centring faces which are arranged at defined angles with respect to the longitudinal axis.
